About Dr. Kaushik Das

Dr. Kaushik Das

Dr Kaushik Das is an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at New York Medical College and Director of Neurosurgery Spine Section at Westchester Medical Center. In 2003 he became board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons.

Dr Das completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1989. He went on to attend medical school at the State University of New York in Brooklyn (Downstate) where he graduated cum laude in 1993 and was a member of AOA honor society. He then trained as a general surgery intern and neurosurgery resident at New York Medical College in Valhalla. After this he went on to complete a Spine Fellowship at the Barrow Neurologic Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2000 he returned to join the faculty at New York Medical College where he now holds a faculty appointment as an Associate Professor.

Dr Das is an active member of many professional organizations including CNS, AANS and the AANS/CNS Joint Section on Disorders of the Spine. He has been faculty and directed numerous courses including the AANS Basics of Spine Stabilization course that is held annually for residents and fellows.
